Fashion boutique with high-ceilinged atmosphere
Fashion boutique DANIEL has a new address on Hørsholm’s pedestrian shopping street. A modern clothing shop for both women and men. The premises have been given an extensive renovation that is welcoming yet corresponds to the boutique’s classic image.
DANIEL was founded in 1993 by Anders Gadegaard in Hørsholm, and it is a boutique that is fully inspired by Italian fashion. When it came time for the boutique to move, the client wanted the new premises to have an inviting, homey feel complemented by good acoustics.
OVER BYEN ARKITEKTER from Copenhagen met the task by transforming a former bank into a contemporary fashion boutique. The architects’ approach is to identify the temporal layers that create meaning and value for future users. On this occasion, it created an additional metre in ceiling height. This is a wonderful quality in the new shop, where it enhances the atmosphere.
Focus on beautiful clothes
The large windows facing the pedestrian shopping street harmonise with the large, airy premises in which DANIEL is now located. The boutique has a stylish, modern feel where all of the merchandise is beautifully displayed and service is top priority.
A grey-painted acoustic ceiling from Troldtekt lends warmth and tranquillity to the space as a whole, while also providing the desired good acoustics. Lighting plays a big role in the boutique, both to highlight the merchandise and create the right atmosphere. This is achieved with the help of an elegant and flexible track system complemented by a few large pendant lamps in the front section of the boutique.
For the floor, sturdy tiles have been selected in a shape close to that used for the ceiling, so as not to bring too many different shapes into play. The shelving on the back wall is designed for the room, while the shop has also brought along some furniture from the previous location.
