Wilhelm Knoll from malerknoll GmbH & Co. KG, who received an award for his special commitment, thought about the comfort of employees and guests when redesigning his business premises.

Master painter Wilhelm Knoll from Hurlach in Upper Bavaria is particularly passionate about inspiring young people to become the specialists of the future. The Managing Director of malerknoll GmbH & Co KG received the Heribert-Späth Award for special training achievements in the trades in 2019 in recognition of his outstanding commitment.

Innovative trade business with above-average training quota

Wilhelm Knoll employs five apprentices in his company, which was founded in 1988 and has a total of 17 employees. With an apprenticeship quota of 30 percent, it is significantly above the national average. Wilhelm Knoll takes on young people who are talented and those who are in need of support, some with and some without a migrant background, in his innovative and modern family-run business, and regularly offers internships and a wide range of projects for pupils.

Acoustic elements set accents in modern business premises

In 2020, Wilhelm Knoll invested in new offices at the same site as the commercial premises for the well-being of customers and above all employees.

There is plenty of space for the aspiring specialists in the light-flooded and spacious training room with a high ceiling. Furniture and ceiling beams made of wood stand out from the light walls and floor and make the large room inviting. A particular eye-catcher here are the symmetrically arranged ceiling sails made of acoustic panels in natural wood, which create a particular design highlight and provide a view right through to the underside of the roof. Ceiling lights installed on the suspended construction of the acoustically effective ceiling sails complement the daylight shining through a window strip if required.

In the stairwell, baffles made of wood wool panels arranged over the entire staircase create sophisticated lighting effects in a colour shade to match the wall design. The showroom also benefits from the acoustic elements used there in two ways. Dark ceiling panels from the Troldtekt® Tilt Line design solution, framed by light grey elements, not only optimise the room acoustics, but are also a key design element with their unique line structure. Combined with a selection of exclusive wall designs, dark furniture and natural wood, the room is given a sophisticated charm.
